Salutation in OET Writing | Common Mistakes in OET Writing 01

If we’re writing a letter to a Doctor, Physiotherapist, Nurse Unit Manager etc and the recipient’s name is not given how can we write the salutation

If you don’t have a name for the recipient then to use their job title which is the next best thing and definitely acceptable for health care writing. So we would use as a salutation for example

Dear Doctor,

Dear Physiotherapist,

Dear Nurse unit manager,

Etc....

and that’s a completely acceptable way of starting the letter if you don’t have a name for your reader.
